Rupert Murdoch doesn’t like freebies. He hates Google (“content kleptomaniacs”, he calls them) and he hates site visitors who aren’t paying for what they read. His solution? Jarvis accuses Murdoch of being a decaying old git who can’t wrap his feeble mind around how the internet works. The paywall erected around the Times and Times London websites, Jarvis claims, are a sign of surrender; Murdoch has given up.
