Self-Powered Nanosensors

Researchers have developed self-powered nanometer-scale sensing devices by combining piezoelectric nanogenerators with two types of nanowire sensors.

These devices are able to draw power from different mechanical sources around them, which is all possible thanks to the piezoelectric effect.
