Aikido is a graceful and majestic Martial Art, mostly ignored by popular culture. Whereas some other styles of combat have starring roles in movies, or experience glory in UFC events, Aikido is more likely to be a favourite of the quiet, more unassuming Martial Artist. It came to be through the work of Morihei Ueshiba, who spent his lifetime developing what he referred to as “The Way of the Harmonized Spirit.” Its movements are circular, taking advantage of evasion and balance to overcome opposition.
