Masdar – The Self-Sustainable City

As our world continues to expand, people have been taking notice of the negative effects we have had on our planet. Everyone has already heard of Global Warming, as well as the fact that humans are depleting many of the Earth’s natural resources.

Our daily lives are filled with actions and events that cause more and more problems for our planet. From the electricity our houses use, to the various packaging of the foods we eat, to the gas that our vehicles require to move, humans have been focused on a life a convenience and luxury, but not so much on conservation. But now, for the first time ever, a city will be built on the basis of complete self-sustainability.

Professor Shigeki Toyama and his team at the Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology have a developed a new device to help people with any sort of physical impairment to complete even the most physically challenging tasks with ease. Though it doesn’t match up to the likes of Iron Man or RoboCop, it is still a very useful creation.

Google acquires Episodic: Content vs Platform?

Google has a long history of acquiring smaller companies – usually small tech startups or other industry service providers that offer a unique toolset that Google wants ownership of.

In the last week, Google has continued this trend by acquiring Episodic, a video hosting platform that deals with media syndication, publishing and advertising analytics.
