Around the Sports World: Beckham Joins the Protest

David Beckham Joins to Protest

After losing to his former club, Manchester United, yesterday in the Champions League 4-0, Beckham put on the green and yellow scarf worn by the anti-Glazer protesters at Old Trafford. Beckham said, “I did it as I’m a United fan, always will be.” I think his entire AC Milan team felt that way. They sure played like they were United fans. (Sun)

VP of AC Milan Knew They’d Lose

AC Milan were thoroughly outplayed last night by Manchester United, which didn’t really surprise Milan’s Vice President Adriano Galliani. Here’s what he had to say:

“Without such important players and taking on a Manchester United side of such quality, it was always going to be extremely difficult.

“I don’t think it will affect our Serie A form. Leonardo already did very well in the locker room to reassure the players.”

What a positive attitude to have. But, judging at the look of him, he doesn’t look like an upbeat kind of guy. (Football Italia)

JR Smith Can Fly

The Denver Nuggets beat the hapless Timberwolves last night in Minnesota, 110-102. JR Smith had the play of the game. Check out his 360 alley-oop.

Tiger Woods Mistress Pageant

Howard Stern, an American radio host, held the first annual Tiger Woods Mistress Pageant yesterday in New York. The winner was Jamie Jungers, a 27-year-old swimsuit model who said she met Woods at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas in 2005 and carried on a multiyear relationship with him. All the details here.
